There is no denying the pulling power of branded drinkware and this, coupled with the global concern for single-use plastics has caused a surge in the popularity for all things reusable.
Enter, UK-made bottles for life from First Editions - fully loaded with eco-credentials!
There are many types of materials that can be used to mould sports bottles but at First Editions our focus is on three. These are low density polyethylene (LDPE), polypropylene (PP) and Tritan (a form of PETG). All our materials are food and drink safe and meet REACH standards.
Using LDPE gives the bottles a glossy pliable premium finish. We use 100% LDPE rather than mixing with other substrates to ensure efficient recycling. Currently LDPE is the most widely recycled plastic in the UK with every council offering a solution for this material.
Polypropylene is the world's second most common plastic and offers increased heat resistance compared to LDPE. First Editions use this material for cups and protein shakers to take advantage of its stability. Widely recycled across all of northern Europe.
Tritan is a premium material offering great resistance and longevity. The range of bottles we make from Tritan are all dishwasher, microwave and freezer proof. Their sturdy design has been engineered to provide a refillable, reusable bottle for life!
First Editions take their responsibility to the environment seriously. All waste material is granulated and where possible (over 90%) is reused. The remaining waste material is supplied to a local business who give the material a new lease of life by turning it into guttering.
